Freudian
Sigmund Freud is a well known physiologist and medical doctor for his pioneering theory of the unconscious and his use of psychoanalysis as a form of therapy. Freud believes that the mind has two parts, one is the conscious mind. This is the smaller and less important part. The larger part by far is the unconscious mind. This is what supplies most of the drives or instincts, the source and cause of many mental disorders. To treat such disorders requires that one knows what the unconscious mind is doing. That is the fundamentals of his psychoanalysis as a form of therapy.
