Rogerian Therapy
Developed by Carl Rogers, Rogerian Therapy refers to the type of therapy that is client-centered. In other words, during Rogerian Therapy, the therapist mirrors whatever the client says without disagreeing or presenting his own opinion. This technique reflects back Rogers ’ claim that the self-centered therapy can have a tremendous effect in that just by listing his problem to an impartial therapist, the client can “improve without being taught anything specific by the therapist.” This approach of therapy enforces the importance of individual personality and may be effective in minor psychopathology but may not for more severe ones. Nevertheless, this is one of the most efficient way of psychotherapy.
